Overview
Reactive power compensation capacitor is an important equipment to
satisfy the reactive power balance of the power system. In recent
years, the problem of reactive power has received general attention
from the electrical industry, and a large number of reactive power
compensation devices have been put into operation in the
distribution network. Power supply requires real-time balance of
active and reactive power in the system. Therefore, the reactive
power compensation device should meet the requirements of automatic
tracking and real-time compensation, which inevitably requires
frequent switching and switching of reactive power compensation
capacitor banks. The switching operation of the capacitor bank will
produce overcurrent and overvoltage shocks, which will cause damage
to the capacitor. In order to ensure the reliability of the
equipment, early detection of capacitor defects and avoid the
expansion of faults, regular inspections are required. In the
field, capacitors are all connected in groups in parallel. The
traditional method is to remove the capacitor bus and then measure
with an old-fashioned capacitor meter. Since the capacitor bank is
composed of dozens to hundreds of small capacitors, it is necessary
to disconnect the wires to measure the capacitance. The amount is
large, and frequent removal of the wires will cause the screws to
slip or not tighten, leaving a safety hazard, and it is also easy
to cause secondary damage to the capacitor. Therefore, it is very
desirable to have a test instrument that can measure the
capacitance of each small capacitor without removing the wires,
reduce the burden on maintenance personnel, improve the efficiency
of maintenance work, and improve the safety of the distribution
network operation.
